Zavtra T-37 Sea to Land (Miyota 9015) Overall design was created by Craig Hester of R2A watches. Detailed mechanical engineering, materials and manufacturing were provided by Wing Liang, owner of Android and now Aragon. Hester's Zavtra line was a one-time limited edition attempt in 2013 to create his own watch line. This one is an homage to the T-37 Soviet WWII amphibious tank with the dial layout taken from the tank's clock. Hester's personal brand didn't get much traction and Wing liquidated remaining stock of various Zavtra models. Maybe it was because the movement inside was a Japanese Miyota instead of a Russian. Sheer speculation on my part; Hester and R2A have been very strongly identified with Russian watches for many years. This one has a black MOP dial and build quality is excellent. Grabbed it when they were being closed out at a super price for yet another with a 9015 inside. Pretty interesting design, John. I like the bezel. I think you're right about the lack of a Russian movement. I have no idea what obtaining a supply of Russian movements would entail, but I know that all Russian watches except Vostok have become really pricey. Dan Henry 1970, of course. I tried embracing the reflections! I'm pretty happy with the results. Looking good, Dan!

Yet another strap swap although admittedly, I prefer this guy on a bracelet. Nothing ventured, nothing gained as they say For some reason that combo makes me think of moonsuits.

Now that was the watch I remember I saw before in the Android news, not the one from yesterday! It's sad but not even my Scout Sniper has a 9015 on board, while Borealis did a great deal in using these movements. They are probably a bit more expensive and neither I see them in affordable Chinese "homage" companies.
Anyway, a real Seiko today, again powered with my most used Seiko movement, only this is the Seiko for the Seiko watches the Seiko 4R35, instead of the SII NH35A which basically is the same. The 4R series are good movements! When they make a lot of something, they usually iron out the bugs early on. The 9015 has a higher beat, but I'm not totally sold on the advantage of high beat rates. Lower rates make for longer power reserves, and a longer service interval.

Looks like everyone is wearing diving watches so far. I'm going to be the odd man out with a Parnis Flieger for the day. It has the Chinese ST36 clone of the 6497 and keeps great time. I like the Chinese Unitas clones. I've had several, and they were all fairly accurate, and never broke down.

I need more 3133! I took today off from work and will be leaving shortly to pick-up my brother's personal items from the nursing home. I collect his cremains this afternoon and I will be tasked with making sure he is not late for his own funeral tomorrow. That's a great shot of the dial, Chris! May your brother rest in peace.

Love in the Moonlight, 2016, easily the best TV miniseries I have ever seen. Great writing, great cinematography and directing, great acting. Looks like a combination of A Midsummer Night's Dream with some traditional Korean fables. Do you get Korean television in Thailand? I went through a phase a few years ago where I watched a lot of Korean films on Netflix. The more important question is, why is there so much ketchup under your watch? You're really rockin' that Sandoz a lot.

Love that one, John. Wearing the Hamilton beast tonight. I think we need a pic of the case back. I'm all about cool case backs lately.

Plenty of mixed emotions and as long as love remains at the forefront, you'll feel the warmth of his memory. One more thing to ponder as you gaze the sky.
