Hang in there Mike, this too will pass. Cold of course, is a relative thing. If you don't normally get much snow if any during the winter, big dips can go straight to the bone. Thankfully, the polar vortex that we've been experiencing is supposed to lift this afternoon resulting in a forecasted high of -14C but at the moment it's -29C. Going with a watch that evokes a warmer season is a good tactic and yours is a great choice. Dang, Russ, that's a great bracelet!

We've got it too, Mike. -6F (-21C) with a wind chill of -27F (-33C). We expect to get all the way to -2F today! Tomorrow though, it's actually supposed to get above freezing. And of course, we know the weather people are ALWAYS right. DeSanders today, another Norwegian brand to go with the weather. And it's good for Blue Monday too! Ooooooh, nice polar map GMT, Jeff!

Thanks Marcel and I agree and aside from fitting my two Alpinists, it fits the Halios too!

Maratac mid-pilot quartz. So this watch still has an issue with the seconds hand losing it's place, or so to speak. Every 20 seconds the minute hand does a 1/3 minute step. But the place where the seconds hand will be when those steps happen can vary wildly. I can force it to reset by pulling out the battery when the hand is at 12. In recent weeks, I noticed the seconds hand could be stopped entirely as I pull it from storage, but the hour/minute is correct. There apparently is no direct gear linkage between seconds hand and minute hand. Seconds hand not moving at all when I put on tonight, it gradually came back to life in short spurts. I think my body heat is warming up some thick lube in the works which goes stiff at a lower temperature. ::confused (2):: My Mondaine will do similar, but not as bad. The watches use the same base movement, but the Mondaine's movement is modified for the Stop2Go action. I store that in a different box off the floor, this Maratac is stored on the floor in a box normally.

Negative 8 degrees F here, so darned cold. We won't get above freezing for at least a week. Ugh. Wearing the Decompression 01 here and dreaming of warm beach and water. That's so unique, Mike! I'm wearing another 2023 favorite. This San Martin is amazing! The attention to detail is surprising.

Always cool to see that one, Mike! Started with the LÜM-TEC today and on to the Fossil... a great little beater watch! Love the Lum-Tec and the Fossil is cool too!
