I started off with my only Swiss movement in a American watch, my Caravelle by Bulova® as I expected my Samurai coming later in the day.... To be honest, I think I want to sell this, as I actually have a full box and I don't wear it enough, it is a smaller watch, it has an older case and if I want the right day, I have to do a lot of turns.. Date is quickset by pushing the crown of the A.Schild movement. (so if any one is interested, just PM me) But then, just when I was ready to get out the door to the Gym, the doorbell rang....
Yes, yes, I was the SAMURAI!! (finally after not even 2 weeks, which felt like months!
And yes, it is a nice watch, didn't even have to size it, it was just right. Cleaned and on the wrist!!
Waddayathink guys?

Congrats on that fine addition to the herd. It's the calm after the storm and a nice day. On the outer edge of the storm but still very heavy rain and OMG what wind. But just small tree branches came down. I'll be doing more cleanup with this modded Uhr-Kraft....... Bob

Congrats, Johan! Love the Samurai. I think the Caravelle is nice, but you have other blue watches I'd pick before that one. Wearing my SD today here.

Looking very good Johan! Some of the older movements don't have a day quickset, just the date - presuming you'd never let it run down - and that all you'd need is to advance the date at the end of 28, 29 and 30 day months. Congrats on the Samurai. The Atlantic Seacrest Automatic adorns my wrist today - the large size automatic powered by an ETA 2824-2. The sapphire crystal is subtly domed to prevent it becoming a circular mirror. Like the Enicar yesterday, I hadn't worn it in quite a while, having ignored any semblance of rotation for many months. Atlantic is one of the very few independent Swiss watchmaking firms without its own in-house movements. They survived the Quartz Revolution by refocusing their marketing east of the Iron Curtain, primarily in Poland, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, where quartz watches were extremely scarce and there was no silver oxide or mercury battery manufacturing infrastructure of any significance to support them. No batteries; no ticking. After the Cold War ended circa 1989-1991, their primary market has remained in that region. They're unknown in North America.

That, my friend, looks super cool! From the countdown inner bezel to the 24hr indicator... almost looks like the same dial colour as my Alpinist.

Thanks, Marcel! It's a pretty wild Seiko. It seems like it was never successful. They couldn't be found for sale soon after I bought mine. That, my friend, looks super cool! From the countdown inner bezel to the 24hr indicator... almost looks like the same dial colour as my Alpinist.
