The sun showing some sunspots. This is a shakedown of a glass solar filter I bought a couple of years ago for the next eclipse in 2024. The moon taken by the IR camera. I used my 500mm mirror lens, which historically makes soft images. I had in mind that this lens would work better with infrared light with less refraction of the light through multiple optical elements. I wanted a couple of dozen photos at least to do an exposure blend but the battery gave out in the cold before that.

Two great shots, Chris! I haven't seen sun spots this way since high school astronomy.
