August 1: McFarland, WI A somewhat tame hawk perched on this power pole as I drove to a realty office to do work. He was still there waiting for me to photograph him as I left.

August 22: Infrared pics from a highway wayside between Portage and Baraboo, WI. Took lunch here, and took notice of the river on the back of the property that I had not really seen before. I think this was the first time the grass was freshly mowed when I stopped. The best photo of the bunch from the river. Then I noticed a dozen or 2 honeybees working this bush of yellow flowers. There was a beetle there too.

I have held this last Milky Way photo from last month. I have been working at bringing out the most detail I can off/on and I think I can finally drop the mic now.

You can really see the light pollution, too. I won't go into details, but after the software combined the original photos into one, I duplicated it as 3 layers that are masked to show specific parts. Then I could adjust the stars 1 way, light pollution could be subdued some, and foreground adjusted in a completely different way.
