I got a message towards the end of work day today to call the nursing home where one of my 2 remaining brothers resided for the past few years. He was dead when they checked on him after lunch. No illness I am told, it may have been a cardiac episode.
Daro had lived a tragic life. At about 19 years old he developed Crohns disease. He suffered greatly with that. His treatment for that may have contributed to the mental illness that came later. For 34 years he was not the same big brother I admired as a child. But I always loved him and am beside myself that I could not visit one more time this year due to COVID restrictions.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Chris. Physical and mental illness are devastating, and it sounds like he had more than his share. Please believe that he understands why you weren't able to visit. May he rest in peace, free from the problems he lived with for so long. I hope you're okay. Take care of yourself.
Dan

Sincere condolences on your loss - saw on other forum you're doing the arrangements which is yet another heavy burden on top of the grief. Crohn's is a tough one to cope with for life. Know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank-you everybody for your good-will. I enlisted my sister to help. I have to follow-up with calls to the nursing home and the mental health agency that was in charge of Daro to get the personal effects and check see if there are any funds in his account to help with fees.
Otherwise living isolated for 30 years makes arrangements uncomplicated. I did have to work several hours to find a good obit photo deep in archives.
