Very nice photos! Your robins seem small. Mine are all big and chunky. Someone must feed them. Was it hot? the squirrel looks like its using that fixture as a heat sink.

I think the female robins are smaller and a little slimmer than males IIRC. It was over 90F, but mostly dry and a breeze blowing from the north. I was seated in shade on the east of my house with some water for around 2.5 to 3 hours with the camera on my lap. Not bad out if not moving. The squirrel seemed kind of preoccupied with something below him. He eventually started barking incessantly looking down at something. That was the last photo with the tail curled up.

Other people were out photographing fireworks on July 4th. I was just photographing flower pots and lawn ornaments at my sister's home. Great pics, Chris! Much more summer like for me.

Canada has again been extra-generous with sharing their fire smoke. Decided to roll with it and planned for a fiery-red sunset like has happened a couple of times before when the skies were hazed gray like today. Staked out the VFW post next to the airport. Let's just say I was dismayed when the sun disappeared behind clouds low on the horizon because they were invisible behind the smoke. Did not get that sky glowing red for a few minutes, but I did a massive photo enhancement of one shot to pretend it happened. Still some cool pics, Chris! I approve! Aviation subjects are one of my obsessions. Along with watches and Matchbox cars and nuclear weapons and disasters and music and literature and.... I definitely got a touch of the Asperger's!

Attacks on schools aren't just a contemporary problem.

Love fighters on static display....

Walked out of a business today after a job and surprise! There was a hawk easily close enough to throw a rock at. Usual cameras were all at home. But I do keep a 12 year old Panasonic Lumix point-n-shoot with a superzoom lens in a go-bag full time. Battery was low, but I got some shots. First is a crop, but the others are as they came from the camera. Great pics! Birds of prey are awesome. My aunt the birder says it's a red-tailed hawk.

This was maybe 2 miles away from where I photographed an urban hawk last year, and I think it is the same bird. Check the 2022 photo thread. OK, last year's bird had a mostly white head. Unless it matured to a brown feathered head it's a different bird.
