After a week of rain, it's so nice to see my new solar panels producing again.
It's funny, we usually used the higher power users, like washing machine, dryer, dish washer as much as possible in the evening hours (after 21:00 h. or 9:00 p.m. until (0)7:00 (am) and in the weekends which is cheaper tariff, but since last Monday we started to use those during the daylight hours, so often we had our power for these activities for free (well, we of course bought those panels but they are supposed to be free of investment in nearly 7 years).
Today I was looking at a Heritor turtle, a hommage a bit further from the Seiko Uemura hommage with a different dial and hands, these models:
But I'm not sure I really want the open back sight with a quite boring looking NH35A and the connected WR of 100 and not fully sapphire crystal, but merely sapphire coated mineral plus an Invicta/Rolex magnifier lens on the 4 'o clock date. I think I like my dial also better, though I like the Heritor hands better...
That's why I'm wearing my Uemura hommage again today...

Great homage, Johan! Those others just don’t really click with me either. Citizen for outdoors then ESQ later.

Great Sharkey, Johan! Hemel 24 for me. The “24” is one of my favourites of the early models. Spartan dial and great hands.

Nice bold interpretation of the original design.

I remember a time when the WIS community was clamoring for a 6105 homage and Jake @ Dagaz Watches and Eddie Platts @ Timefactors were the only ones who stepped up with their interpretations. Over the last couple of years, there's been more "homages/re-interpretations" than the Fast & Furious franchise! That one you show there Johan is interesting and I kinda like their take on it but whatever floats yer boat ought to remain the watch word Going with my modified SRPC 41 today...

. . . Do you have natural gas there - and how does its cost compare to electricity? Joule for joule in the major appliances using it, natural gas here is immensely cheaper. My stove (full size oven plus range top) clothes dryer and hot water heater are all natural gas from the gas mains. Had the house plumbed for it when I bought it 25 years ago. Forced air gas furnace wasn't possible as the house is on electric baseboard heating, conversion of which to forced air heating would require major modifications to the house for the required duct work. It was built in the 1970's when electricity was still dirt cheap, and home construction was cheaper with electric baseboard and omitting natural gas plumbing. The gas company ran the gas line from their mains to the house and provided a meter for free. We did the black pipe gas plumbing from there.

You're very correct- the market's being flooded for sure. But as you said, whatever floats your boat- more choices for those discerning homage hunters... Great mod on that SPRC- looks chopped and channelled

Great homage, Johan! Those others just don’t really click with me either. Citizen for outdoors then ESQ later. Well, on the Heritor homepage, they had one with an orange bezel and orange minutehand, I actually liked that, but still that boring black dial... (I know, my dial is also black but better "scripted"
Great Citi and Esq!

Very nice mini-turtle! If I had the blandest mini turtle, I'd Soxasized it! Dagaz and Yobokies have the right stuff for that! Still, love that grey strap, not that I'd wear rubber/plastic straps.
