Advice please.
My SPB151 is running very inconsistently. It is not a watch I wear everyday but today it ran about +35 seconds a day fast. Last week when I wore it, it was running -30 seconds a day slow.
It was serviced in November, wasn’t dropped or hit on anything. It isn’t magnitetised according to the lepsi app and a compass doesn’t react either. My days are very similar in terms of activity and hand positioning and I do wind it fully before putting it on.
I do own another 3 seikos with the 6r35 movement, 2 of them are running fairly inconsistently as well.
Are all 6r35s this rubbish?
I have 10+ watches with 4r movements and even if they are not the most accurate, at least they are consistent.
Any advice, tips tricks are welcome.
Thank you in advance.

Interesting that people have been noticing the poor rate keeping of the 6R35 for a long time. My wild guess is that Seiko's idea to increase the run time was useless. The run time of the 6R15 was already two or two and a half days .... and it is a sweet running watch. Likewise the 4R36 in my new edition Seiko 5 is very stable and close to chronometer performance.

My watch maker won’t work on this movement when I asked him to regulate mine , he’s had far too many problems with them .
All my 6r ‘s have been very poor , won’t buy again.

Ben Kannemeyer One of mine is on its 3rd service within a month a 3 month period under warranty. They are putting in a new movement at the moment. Funny enough the watch was regulated and monitored as part of the quality check process at the service center. Yet here we are.

I put mine on the time grapher and noticed that the rate varies quite a bit as you continue to wind the main spring. It will run much faster when the spring is wound down, and much slower when it’s got a full wind.
If you’re wearing it consistently on your wrist, it shouldn’t change that much each day though. Is that what’s happening?

My experience has been limited to one 6r35 movement, and mine mirrored your experience. I sincerely wish seiko would make this movement more accurate. I’ve since moved over to a Tudor (ranger model), and I’m astonished how well it can keep time.

I've got an Alpinist with a 6R35, it needed to be regulated (or changed by Seiko) after loosing 30 sec, which is a warranty case... and regulated again, by a watchmaker later on. My Seiko 5 with 4R35 runs much better, after finding the right position in the night even very good (+2 seconds). Will never buy a watch with 6R35 again.

I bought a new Willard and it was running erratically until I had a watchmaker regulate it...that was a year ago. Since then it is running well within specs.

I’ve had much better experiences with 4R35, 6R15, and 8L35. My 6R35 seem to be erratic and one has a high beat error.

My Willard is way faster than but it’s magnetized.
My 5 other 6r35 movements are good to go.
