Mind blown - The bevel of the case on the new 5 is lifted straight from Yema. Yema used this case shape for a few decades, sort of a characteristic of the brand. Seiko owned 25% of Yema for a short time in the late 90s. Yema is a historic brand with unique designs, though now it changes ownership every few years. I suspect Seiko invested in the brand to act as a design studio for Seiko. Amazing to see the Yema bevel show up now.   |
