I have a soft spot for Doxa divers.
The watch was purchased through Watchdives and shipped directly from China for $169. It has the standard made-in-China boutique brand specs: I chose yellow as I have never had a yellow diver before. But the blue and silver dials were tempting. This is a v.2 dial with "Tactical Frog" omitted from the text at 6 o'clock. Less is more in this case if it's not an actual Doxa. The beads of rice bracelet is generally well executed. There is some flex, and it could be enough to pull wrist hairs. I've had much worse. The yellow text on the outer bezel matches but tends to disappear in low-light. Only the outer part of the bezel rotates, the inner is fixed in place. Also the ratchet of my particular watch is not aligned to the dial. It is exactly 1/2 click off. Crown winding and setting is good, a bit unfinished feeling when screwing down or releasing the crown. It features a frog logo etched on it. Caseback is likewise etched with the frog design. The dial printing is not as crisp as Swiss or Japan standard. Lume is above average, will glow a couple of hours at least On balance, the watch meets and exceeds my expectations for the purchase price. The cushion case is 43mm across with the crown bringing the full width to 45mm. I tend to prefer 42mm and below but this watch is wearing on my wrist well. If you want to scratch a Doxa itch but don't fully care as much about function, this could do it.

I had the same watch, but type 1 and the blue dial. Mine had still the tachymeter scale and only the outer bezel turned, I don't know how it is with yours, I had also that there was a deviation in the bezel of a 1/2 click! Also the clasp had not enough micro adjustments, I see, that have improved there also. There is also a lumed pip on the bezel I guess?
So, as soon I had this one, I ordered the Sea Star (Seestern) The Seestern 1st edition doesn't have the tachy scale and a bit higher bezel, there is about 2 or 3 mil between bezel and watch. My dial is a bit simpler, as there are no laid on markers, but the hands are thinner, expecially the minutes hand and the hands are glossy! The lettering is a tad to thin and small for my liking. My date wheel is lumed. I think the bracelet is a tad nicer than that on the TF but the clasp misses the push buttons though has 4 micro adjustments. There are just tiny differences, but I'm glad they have improved on the TF.

Very nice, Chris. It looks like it's very well made and solid. I can see how that would scratch the Doxa itch quite nicely. Congrats!

Great review Chris and as you and Johan can attest, you definitely succeeded in scratching that itch! What is it with frogs anyway?
